Simple Steps to Rich Coffee Concentrate

The French Market Cold Water Brewing System will brew ½ pound, 12oz or one pound of French Market Coffee at a time.

  1. Place the rubber stopper in the bottom of the white plastic brewing container from the outside (for removal after brewing).
  2. Soak one of the reusable filters in water so it is damp and flexible. Place the filter in the inside bottom of the brewing container. The filter will fit snugly within the filter recess lip.
  3. Fill white brewing container with 4 ½ cups of cold water for a ½ pound batch or 9 cups of water for a full pound. (Bottled water is best.)
  4. Slowly pour dry French Market Coffee onto the water in the brewing container. DO NOT STIR THE MIXTURE OR PUSH THE COFFEE DOWN.
  5. Let the mixture steep for 10-12 hours.
  6. When the brewing time is complete, life the plastic brewing container and hold over the glass decanter. While holding the container over the decanter, remove the rubber stopper. Concentrate will immediately begin flowing into the decanter. Filtration typically takes 15-30 minutes to complete. The concentrate is now ready to use. Store concentrate in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for about 3 weeks. (For longer storage, freeze the concentrate as ice cubes or in a plastic storage container.)
  7. EASY CLEAN UP: After disposing of the grounds, lift the reusable filter out of the bottom of the brewing container or push it up with a chopstick or other thin object. DO NOT INSTER A KNIFE THROUGH THE STOPPER HOLE TO REMOVE THE FILTER. THIS CAN CUT THE OPENING CAUSING LEAKAGE DURING A FUTURE BREWING PROCESS. Rinse the filter out thoroughly. Place it in the plastic bag while still wet and store it in the refrigerator. The filter will last 3-4 months or up to 6 uses. The brewing container and the decanter are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand.
